Private Villa - Tuscany

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
To produce honed Light Travertine cladding for the façade of a private villa in Tuscany.

CHALLENGE
The idea of Lissoni Associati was to clad the façade with very large pieces of Light Travertine. However, results from leak testing revealed a fracture strength that necessitated using smaller slabs.

SOLUTION
Salvatori carried out a study of possible solutions by testing the material from several quarries and analysing the various banks and the relative sealant capacities.
Following this, we were able to propose a suitable stone that satisfied the necessary safety and stability requirements while also fully meeting the architect’s vision.
