The Balnea collection wins at the ELLE DECO INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS - EDIDA – 2020
Softness and versatility are a winning combination in the 2020 edition of the ELLE DECO INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS – EDIDA – 2020 with the Balnea collection designed by Elisa Ossino taking home the prize in the Bathrooms category
Balnea, the bathroom collection by Elisa Ossino, took the Bathroom prize at this year’s ELLE DECO INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS, otherwise known as EDIDA.
Winners in 14 categories, from interior design to wall coverings, from tableware to furniture, are selected by a panel made up of the editors-in-chief of Elle Decoration’s 25 international editions, and announced each year during Milan Design Week.
In the words of Ossino, “It was a real thrill to win at these awards with Balnea, and a recognition of all the work over the past years with Salvatori, all the painstaking research and experimentation”.
Those efforts have resulted in the creation of a series of elegant and beautiful objects which, of course, include the Balnea collection, inspired by the fluid, soft forms of ancient Roman baths. The idea was to create timeless objects that, as Elisa describes “took us back in time but that at the same time, had very contemporary forms.”
The artful combination of natural stone and soft, exquisite geometrical curves results in a collection that bestows elegance to any space. With many of the pieces working together in a modular system, there is also plenty of flexibility, making it supremely easy to transform a conventional bathroom into a stylish, calming haven.
