The timeless detail of the spaces and concise palette of stone, timber and custom metalwork creates a calm and rich modern residence

The design of the penthouse suite on the 80th floor of the award-winning Index Tower, designed by Norman Foster + Associates, was completed by Dubai-based ANARCHITECT & T.ZED Architects, using a wide range of Salvatori stones and textures, including Lithoverde® to accentuate the geometry of the spaces, and Crema d’Orcia Bamboo for its ability to play with light and shadow.

Set over three floors with uninterrupted views of Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa, the spaces were stripped to their structural shell on each level as the original layouts did not meet the client’s needs. ANARCHITECT & T.ZED Architects was given the freedom to create a sequence of spatial experiences that flow horizontally across each floor and interconnect vertically through the use of material and meticulous detail within the staircase design.

The organisation of the residence was segregated into lifestyles of living (top level), private quarters (middle level) and leisure (bottom level).
The timeless detail of the spaces and concise palette of stone, timber and custom metalwork creates a calm and rich modern residence.

One of the design choices we particularly liked was that of Infinito for the floor around the Jacuzzi (which was made from cut-to-size Bianco Carrara Lithoverde®, no less). With its grooved texture, Infinito makes for an ideal non-slip surface in wet areas.
