Pietra D'Avola Chevron | Sample

A rich chocolatey limestone, Pietra d’Avola is a dark, elegant stone that can vary in shade from greyish-brown to almost black. Its intense shade makes it ideal for a wide range of uses, from large-scale interior projects to small accessories.
Among Pietra d’Avola’s most distinctive characteristics are the whitish lines and splashes of colour which arise as a result of the quartz contained in the stone. Occasional yellowish marks may also be found.
A hardwearing stone, it is suitable for both interior and exterior usage, along with areas where it may be subjected to high foot traffic.
This sample combines Pietra d’Avola with our
Chevron texture.
An evolution of our Raw finish, designed for Salvatori by Piero Lissoni, Chevron was inspired by the idea of reproducing the eponymous fabric in stone. Extremely versatile, it can be used for floors, walls and boiserie, inside and out. Its natural grip and visual similarity to decking means it is also ideal around swimming pools.
Lighting significantly enhances the beauty of Chevron as the textured motif creates an elegant interplay of light and shadow when the right illumination is added.
The process which creates Chevron tiles is designed to preserve the natural aesthetic qualities of the stone. As a result of this, the tiles may not be perfectly identical, however this non-uniformity is intrinsic both to the texture and the natural stone itself.
