An elegant creamy-coloured limestone exclusive to Salvatori, Crema d’Orcia’s warm hues convey a sensation of unexpected softness.
You will often see small holes, the occasional shell-shaped fossil and tiny lines of pink quartz. These are not defects, but instead, are part of the layers of history of each block of stone.
This sample combines Crema d’Orcia with our
Raw texture.
Designed by Piero Lissoni, Raw represents the ruggedness of hewn wood, translated in stone to create a nuanced play of light and shadow.
“I worked with Gabriele Salvatori on this surface treatment for marble, to increase and extend the rough cut of pieces of stone. What we got was a series of stones cut like pieces of wood, transforming the precise, mechanical cut into a rough cut, creating an ‘engraved’ effect on the surface. We revolutionised the technological element, turning it into a handcrafted process, and the result was an even surface, which could be laid, for example, using a tongue and groove technique, like parquet.”

Suitable for internal and external use including wet areas, Raw tiles come in two configurations:

• Packed in crates containing an equal mix of three different lengths
• Packed in crates containing a uniform size of tile.
