All our finished products leave our Tuscan premises pre-sealed. Since we do not like to paint the surface of our lovely stones with transparent paints or resins, we apply three coats of the highest possible level of protective sealant. This helps to preserve the product without compromising the wonderful natural look and feel of the stone.
That said, please bear in mind that there is no sealer on the market that can make natural stone 100% stain proof, especially if you leave the staining agent on it for a prolonged period. The sealant acts as a temporary barrier that allows you to have a few hours between the moment a staining substance (for example, wine or coffee) comes into contact with the stone and the moment you wipe it off. The important thing is to act quickly before a substance is absorbed into the stone, as that is when it causes staining.
Please DO NOT use cleaners containing abrasive cleansers, ammonia, bleach, acid or even those “homemade remedies” made from lemon, vinegar and the like.
If you are a particularly assiduous cleaner or you have difficulty removing a mark, you can use specialist stone cleaning products and, if to set your mind at rest you can periodically apply a new coat of sealant.
For cleaning stone, wood and metal, simply use a soft cloth with water or a neutral detergent.
WOOD
Please avoid using detergents on wood and always dry it carefully after cleaning to prevent streaks or patches forming.
Remember that wood is a natural material and can be delicate and photosensitive. Exposure to light, heat or damp may cause slight discolouration or minor adjustments in size, but this is entirely normal and shouldn’t be considered a defect.

All our smaller accessories are presented in exclusive white packaging designed not only to protect its precious contents during transit, but also to create an elegant aesthetic. We feel privileged to work with natural stone, an incredible gift of Nature, and in turn, we want you to feel as though you are opening a gift when a Salvatori parcel arrives.

The Village collection celebrates the concept of home in all its guises. Not just its fundamental purpose as a protective structure that provides everyday shelter, nor only in its role as a special place and haven, but also in the sense of our global village, with its capacity to make us feel united and part of a community no matter where we are in the world. We invited a select group of designers to create their idea of home, an expression of their various cultures, backgrounds and outlooks.
The result is a fascinating and wonderfully eclectic collection of miniature houses, that, like the global village we inhabit, reflect an extraordinary array of styles and approaches. Kore is the name given by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola to her pair of contrasting yet complementary houses, in homage to the delicate but majestic statues of Ancient Greece that depict young women on the cusp of adulthood. Each piece is characterised by clean lines and a deceptively simple form.
Alma is a tiny house in Rosa Portogallo marble, with its glorious colouring and veining, while Petra is made from travertine, an evocative and tactile material that epitomises the long tradition of natural stone in architecture and art. At a glance, you feel the warmth and intimacy of a true home, expressed through these two examples of mini-architecture with their different aesthetic and representation of two contrasting worlds. Part of a virtual, multi-faceted village, at their heart they share a sense of family and the intrinsic fascination of natural stone.
“The Village is a reflection on domestic spaces, something that is more important than ever today. Home has become the centre of our lives, our town or city, our habitat. We have all become domestic navigators, trying to orient ourselves to these new latitudes, ways of living.”
