For routine maintenance of the surfaces, always use neutral cleansers (for example, FILACLEANER or neutral soap). Do not in any case use harsh products that could irreparably damage the surface of the stone (such as acids or descaling products).
We strongly recommend that you do not place hot objects such as kettles or pans directly onto natural stone as it may cause
discolouration or staining.
If your stone is exposed to “hard water” where there is a high mineral content, you will need to take a little extra care as the cleaning properties of the FILACLEANER or neutral detergent will be weakened. You will therefore need to use these products a little more frequently so that soap scum, lime scale and the like do not have the chance to build up and congeal.
SHIPPING
As a rule, all orders destined within Italy should arrive within 1-3 working days, whilst for countries within the EU the estimated delivery time is 2-6 working days and 8-10 for other destinations.
We process all orders received for smaller items weighing less than 70 kg each morning (Monday to Friday) before midday (CET or UTC +1) and usually they will be dispatched the same day. Orders placed after midday (CET) Monday to Friday will be dispatched the following working day. Once your order has been sent, we will send you an email with a tracking link so that you can monitor your delivery.
For bulkier items (tables, storage pieces, special editions, bathtubs and mirrors), delivery times may vary, based on the dimensions of the product and availability in our warehouse. For a more detailed explanation, please click here.

RETURNS
We always hope that our clients will be delighted with our products, but we understand that sometimes it may be necessary to return an item. This must be done within 14 days from the date of delivery, using the same courier or shipping provider that delivered it to you.
All our products are accompanied by a returns form, so simply complete this and follow the instructions to organise your return request.
Where free delivery is included with a purchase, there are also no delivery costs if you decide to return a product. In all other situations, we will deduct the costs of returning a product from the final refund, which will be made via the same payment means used for your original purchase.
Please note that we cannot accept a return if a product has been used or personalised in any way. Every item must be returned in its original packing and adequately packed to ensure it travels safely and reaches us in perfect condition
Once we have authorised a refund, it will be made within 5 working days from the date we receive the product back.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Payment can be made securely by either Paypal or a debit or credit card which will be processed through the Stripe platform which accepts all major debit and credit cards.
We use these platforms as they ensure your payment details are protected through SSL encryption technology. Your data will be used only to complete your purchase transaction and to process a refund if necessary.
Your debit or credit card will only be charged after we have verified your card details and received authorisation from your card issuer to go ahead and process the payment.

The Lost Stones story began in 2019 when Gabriele Salvatori and Piero Lissoni, inspired by the traditional Japanese technique of Kintsugi which repairs broken objects with gold, set out on a mission to repair flawed or damaged slabs of natural stone. Using a golden resin, we applied the same approach to abandoned or damaged slabs of natural stone. From there, we evolved the idea and developed a concept that could be described as the interior design equivalent of a bespoke garment. Lost Stones is not available in standard tiles, but instead every slab is sourced, cut and finished to optimise the stone itself and the environment it will grace. The result is a truly special texture and in the rich dark tones of Pietra d’Avola, the golden seams find their perfect contrast to create a designer product that injects luxury and warmth to floors and walls. Beyond the aesthetics, there is also the knowledge that when you choose Lost Stones, you are also making a sustainable design choice, giving new life to a natural resource that was previously unloved but now is restored to splendour.

You will immediately notice when your Pietra d’Avola tiles arrive that they will have a grey colour rather than the lovely rich brown of the samples you have probably seen.
This is because we do not treat it before it leaves our premises, as it is better done once installed, ideally with an enhancing product which will bring out the intense brown colour.
We recommend FILASTONE PLUS for this.
Pietra d’Avola is a compact material with a very low absorbency coefficient.
As a result most of the water-oil-repellent products on the market are too dense for it as they tend to create a film on the surface of the stone which can be difficult to remove.
This is another reason we recommend FILASTONE PLUS for Pietra d’Avola.
IMPORTANT NOTE
If you are installing Pietra d’Avola in an area where it will be frequently exposed to water, if you apply FILASTONE PLUS as recommended above, you will not require any further water-repellent treatment product.
Please DO NOT use any water sealant product such as FILA HYDROREP in combination with STONE PLUS.
It is not necessary and, in fact, may be detrimental to both the effectiveness of the treatment and the stone’s aesthetic.
The images shown on this page are indicative of the colour and characteristics of our products but cannot be 100% representative. Being made from natural materials, every tile or slab is unique in terms of tonality, colour and characteristic. These are all subject to variation depending on the type of stone and the conditions in the quarry from where it comes.
